A national chain of department stores wanted to find one comprehensive IT solution for logistics, and depot repair of its PCs, laptops, point of sale (POS) equipment, network equipment, handheld devices, and more.  

Problems:

One of the biggest challenges of managing a national chain of stores is ensuring consistent performance and quality at every location.   The chain also wanted to offer an advance exchange program but needed a buffer stock of devices and proper asset management assistance to keep business on track.

The Solution:

UCS to manage the entire chain of stores’ hardware and strategically repair and deploy assets using our reverse logistics offering. UCS’ ability to overnight devices to the entire United States, was crucial in keeping this chain’s devices up and running.

The outcome:

UCS Logistics successfully provided $1.9M program savings the first year, exceeding targets. We also allowed the chain to achieve 10% higher satisfaction scores with their employees, compared to previous annual period. UCS expertise in the space allowed the client to stop using multiple OEMs– saving time with higher efficiency.
